A Mafioso attack today at noon in Sukth of Durrës took the lives of Ervin Dalipaj and Xhino Dautaj. The first was a well-known character, because he once arrested former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri’s father.
Ervin Dalipaj held post of the chief of the sector against the economic crime in Tirana’s Police Department till October 2013, when he was fired by Minister Tahiri, because, according to the minister, did not do his job during the operation against the hazard games machines.
At the time, Dalipaj was accused of cooperating with the owners to hide the games machines from police.
Dalipaj and the chief of crimes in Korça PD were among the 12 chiefs who were accused of revealing the police action. He was also accused of being involved in the kidnapping and murder of Gazmend Çollaku on 6 January 2016.
