Another person has been arrested for the affair of the trafficking of 10 tons of cannabis from the harbor of Durrës, taking the number to 19. Sources from the Prosecution Officed confirmed the arrest of

Elis Deliu, an official of Tirana customs. The other 18 arrested are expected to go before the judge tomorrow to get known to the accusations and the measure of security.

The investigation for the trafficking of 10 tons of cannabis started on 21 March, when Italian police sequestered a lorry driven by the Albanian citizen Ervis Hysa, with 2.2 tons cannabis aboard.

According to the prosecution the customs practice in this case has been performed by Vora customs, where the load was sealed. Customs officials said they addressed the papers and saw nothing irregular. Later the vehicle was weighed and sealed.

The vehicle passed untroubled through Durrës customs office as well, when several of the officials that allowed the first vehicle with 8 tons of cannabis aboard on February 5 were in shift.

According to the Prosecution Office, Durrës harbor and customs house did not check the vehicle whiche was later was sequestered by the Italian police.
