The Prosecution Office has started the verification of the wealth of Deputy Mhill Fufi, a few days after his son was convicted with a 16 years of prison sentence for cocaine traffic from an English court. After Armando Fufi was found guilty and convicted, the UK prosecutors have requested from their homologues in Albania to verify the source of wealth and possible investments of the Deputy Mhill Fufi’s son.

Sources from the Prosecution Office told Report TV they have started the investigation for possible dirty money generated from criminal activity.

The British authorities have informed their Albanian counterparts that the gang where Fufi was a member circulated huge amounts of money both via transfers to Albania and in illegal ways. The transfers made the British authorities suspect the money is invested in real estate, enterprise, construction and transport companies in Albania.

A former defender of Partizani Tirana, Deputy Fufi’s son results to have been involved in drugs trafficking after leaving football.

The British Court gave prison sentences to Fufi’s accomplice as well, condemning Rasim Berberi with 12 years, Mario Xhafa 8 years and Kamando Disha 8 years.
