A double killer has been extradited yesterday from UK, after being in the Interpol’s most wanted list.

Avni Metra, 53, born in Burrel, Albania, identified as a Kosovan with UK passport, under the name Avdul Mekra, born in Gjakova.

Metra has been sentenced with 25 year of jail in his absence for two murders.

The first murder of Meta took place in April 1997, when he and an accomplice, who also sneaked to UK, shot to death a security guard, named Kadri Xhetani, who tried to stop the two accomplices from stealing a flour factory. The two criminals also ambushed the brother of Kadri Xhetani, after the defunct man’s funeral, attacking him and throwing his body in a river.

Kadri and Nevruz Xhetani’s sister, who identified Avni Metra, said he and his accomplice cut her brother’s ears and gouged his eyes while he was still alive.

Metra managed to sneak to UK in 1998, falsely claiming to be from Kosovo and he was granted a UK passport.

His ex wife, Linda Lami, accused him of repeated rape during their 14-years marriage, and called him a “psycho who is able to do anything”, adding she was only a 16 year old naïve girl when she married him.
