Former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri will be free to leave the country, after the Appellation Court for Serious Crimes lifted the ban that was imposed on him by the Court of the first grade.
Tahiri is under investigation by the Prosecution for Serious Crimes over implication in international drugs traffic. The Court for Serious Crimes, with Prosecution’s request, banned Tahiri from leaving the country and blocked his passport. Tahiri and his lawyer claimed it was a ridiculous decision, because the Prosecution presented no new evidence to support the ban. According to Tahiri’s lawyer, no new proof was needed for the Appellation Court to take the new decision.
